Cuba - The biggest island nation in the Caribbean is better known for producing baseball players - many of whom find their way to America for the Big Bucks. Football is still very popular in Cuba. This is a picture of Havana's Estadio Pedro Marrero, their version of Wembley! The capacity is 30,000 and it has a manual scoreboard! Cuba, known as Leones del Caribe (Lions of the Caribbean), were the first Caribbean team to get to the World Cup quarter finals in 1938. They drew 3-3 with Romania, winning the replay, 2-1. The quarter-finals saw Cuba lose 0-8 to Sweden and they haven't been seen since at the World Cup finals. Scroll down as there is a second photo of this "Wembley of the Caribbean". (October 2014).

On 7th October 2016, Cuba hosted the USA for the first time in Cuba since 1947. Watch the highlights here, courtesy of Youtube and US Soccer. Note the manual scoreboard that can be seen after the second goal for the USA.
