In July 2008 at the Croydon Masonic Halls, the 1st Streatham Common (a feeder group to the Streatham Venture Scout Unit) celebrated its centenary.
Being one of a few Groups that had achieved this milestone without any temporary closures due to either World Wars, gave the occasion a special moment in Scouting history.
